Last week I got a nice gift from my boyfriend: the Vogue UK september issue :) I know the featured editorial, The Moss Factor, has been covered by many blogs a while ago, but I still loved to see it on print.

My favourite:

Also, I loved this months cover of the dutch Elle, which came in threefold; Individuelle, Sensuelle, Rebelle:

(Almost) Broken Heart

I've looked at these shoes very often at the H&M webshop, but never purchased them. Now they were on sale so I thought I'd give it a try. I got them yesterday, and they are so much better in real life! I'm in love! BUT, they don't fit.. My toes get all crooked :( I kind of panicked, because they were the last pair.. But then, at 8.00 am the next morning, H&M filled the shop again and they were available! To be sure I've ordered a size 39 and a size 40 now, haha! Can't wait to get them!

Patrick Demarchelier

Some photographers just seem to always get it right. Whenever feeling uninspired, the pictures of Patrick Demarchelier will give you some instant inspiration. I think his work is truly amazing. Hopefully he'll never retire!

Silver kind of girl

I was looking for a nice silver nailpolish for a while now, when I found the perfect one at a Dutch drug store (Kruidvat)! It's by 'Gosh' and it will set you back only  around 6 euro. When I bought mine, they had a special 2 for 1 offer, that's why I took the gold one too. I like it also, but not as much as the silver one though - the gold one could be more 'shiny' in my opinion. What do you prefer, golden or silver nails?

Minty fresh

Today I decided to throw on my mint-colored, vintage jacket, that I actually bought a while ago, but wore only once until now. In fact, my day had kind of a 'bad' start, when my perfume bottle just slipped out of my hands and shattered into a million pieces on the bathroom floor. Could have known this was going to happen to me, I'm kind of a 'dropper' (for those of you who have watched Friends!) - the plus side is my room smells nice now - though at times the smell becomes slightly overwhelming haha!

Summer in the City

This summer I bought a disposable camera- for the first time again in like forever. And I forgot how much fun it is not to know how you're photos are going to turn out! I just threw it in my bag and snapped some pictures whenever I was doing something fun - like a picnic, a sunday-morning breakfast outside, having the most delicious icecream (I do realise now that all of these things include food, haha!), or having breakfast (there's the food again!) with Kim, who can be spotted with a big-ass croissant!!
Anyhow, it was such a fun experience,I was so excited when I could finally pick up the photos at the store! And I quite like the 'old, and not so perfect' atmosphere they have! Definitely going to do this more often!
Now I only need to buy lots of white frames (or vintage frames that I can paint white myself) for them!

A lil' like Chloé

Last week, while thrift shopping, I found this blouse which reminded me of Chloé's famous spring 2009 RTW collection, which I absolutely LOVED. So you can imagine my happiness when finding it, and especially upon discovering its 2 euro pricetag! After spending the weekend working and spending some time with my boyfriend (we watched Kick-Ass, such a fun movie!!!), I'm now off to work on my thesis - aka 'the neverending story'!

I'm packing my suitcase now, because tomorrow I'll leave to the south of France! I'm going with a friend and we will travel from campingsite to campingsite by bike, so it is a bit hard to figure out what clothes to pack! It needs to be comfortable on a bike, but I also want to look a little fashionable ;-). I'm definitely not packing convertible pants, but I MIGHT be packing hiking sandals...
See you in a week!

So here's my take on the turban-trend, I wasn't able to make a real one (maybe youtube could help out), but also I think this is a lot more wearable for everyday life. It will be very usefull on my vacation next week, because I'll be spending all my days on a bike and I want to avoid a sunstroke ;-)

Here is what I wore today. It is a very simple outfit but I like the contrast between black and white. I'm spending most of the day at home so I'm not wearing any shoes ;-)
The dress and sunglasses are from H&M and the White tee is from Vanilia.

I'm only happy when it rains

Here is just a quick picture I took of what I wore yesterday. In summer I never know what to wear, I simply don't have much summery clothes. So every morning I spend a lot of time in front of my closet, not knowing what to pick. I never have that problem in fall/winter, I can't wait to wear layers and jackets again! But for now I'll have to get through these hot days with the few summery dresses and shorts that I own. Luckily I'm spending most of my days in the airconditioned library writing my thesis ;-)

Also, as requested, here is a swatch of the minty green nailpolish. It's from Catrice and it's called Sold Out Forever (which it actually is).

Chicken Salad

The best thing to eat in this hot weather is a fresh salad, especially when it includes some lovely chicken!

I just wanted to quickly show you my new nailpolishes. I love these pastel colors, which make me think of Italian icecream in pistacchio, chocolate and blood orange ;-)

New Favorites

Necklace from Vanilia

Mango shorts, love the detailing on this one, i.e. the slit in the back and the leather finishing.

Do you also want to wear new clothes as quickly as possible? Quite a problem if you buy things that don't match haha. Everytime I get something new it becomes my next favorite item. Right now I'm very happy with my new acquisitions, especially with the Mango shorts. I already saw them three weeks ago, but now I could finally go buy them.

zara blouse, sorry for posting the most crappy picture ever!

This dish is so simple and quick, but so delicious, I always make it when I don't feel like spending to much time in the kitchen. You just need some tortellini, fresh tomatoes, parmesan cheese and basil, and a spoonful of crème fraiche, some salt and pepper and that's it!

And after that, I had the perfect dessert: fresh strawberries :-)

Wake up and smell the coffee

No better way to kick off your day than a nice magazine and some strong coffee (especially when it's drunk from a leopard printed cup!). The magazine is called S Magazine, I don't know anything about its background - only that it's Scandinavian - but I do know that it's very cool.

Mad About You

I bought this nailpolish at H&M without high expectations, but now I might have found a new favorite. The best part is that it was only 1 euro :)

Yesterday night there was a blackout in my street, so with no internet or tv available anymore I decided to just go with it. I lit some candles and installed myself in bed with a book and some music, very cosy! Maybe there should be more blackouts because with no distractions from technology (internet in particular ;-) ) I finally picked up a book again.

Chocolate Heaven

Laura and I were definitely in for a treat after we spent a whole day in the library to work on our theses, so we went to Coffeelovers for a nice latte macchiato. But then our eyes caught this slice of chocolate cheesecake which we both couldn't resist.
This must be one of the most delicious things I ever ate in my life! OMG! Eating this makes every problem dissapear, haha! (Unfortunately this feeling doesn't last. As soon as my plate was empty, the only thing I could hope for was not to explode)

Little Green, be a Gypsy Dancer

This blouse is so comfortable I wish I could wear it every day this summer. Unfortunately it has to be washed now and then, and moreover it would be a bit odd if I did. The whole outfit is h&m, except for the necklace which is my mothers.
